How many sessions will I need?
It is hard to predict the exact length of time it will take for you to meet your goals. While brief therapy may be appropriate for some issues, others may require more extensive therapy. Individual concerns are improved or resolved at different rates. During your initial appointment your counselor will work to understand your needs and concerns, discuss recommendations regarding the frequency of sessions and the appropriate approach for your situation. Your counselor can meet with you weekly or bi-weekly.
How much does a session cost?
Our session fees are structured as follows:
Individual sessions: $150.00
Couples sessions: $180.00
Intern sessions: $70.00
**Please note that all interns are supervised by fully licensed professionals.
What's the difference between an intern, provisionally licensed professional, and a fully licensed professional?
The difference between an intern, provisionally licensed professional, and a fully licensed professional lies in their level of licensure and experience.
An intern is a counseling student currently pursuing their masters degree who is gaining supervised experience as part of their education. Interns provide counseling services under the direct supervision of fully licensed professionals.
The provisionally licensed professional counselor (PLPC) has completed the educational requirements and the field experience requirements to obtain their Master’s degrees, but are still in the middle of their counseling residency period. This means that PLPC’s practice under weekly clinical supervision as mentioned above, but the supervisor is not in the session. Instead, each week the clinical supervisor and PLPC meet separately and discuss each of the PLPC’s cases to provide the benefit of their experience and guidance. Think of a PLPC like you would think of a Medical Resident you might be treated by — they have the same skills, training, etc., but are still in their residency period.
A fully licensed professional counselor has completed all educational and experiential requirements and holds a valid license to practice independently. They have fulfilled the necessary criteria for licensure and have accrued significant experience in the field.
How do I pay my counselor?
Payment is due each time of service and is acceptable through the following forms of payment: debit, credit, or HSA card.
What if I can't make it to my appointment?
If you need to cancel, please do so at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. Cancellations within 24 hours and no shows will be charged the full session fee.
What do I need to know if I am considering using insurance?
You are also encouraged to be familiar with the coverage offered by your insurance plan. If you have and choose to access your out-of-network benefits, your therapists can provide an itemized receipt called a super bill for you to submit for possible reimbursement of these services. To submit a mental health claim your therapist is required to provide a diagnosis and some information about the treatment you are receiving.
Do you take EAP?
Lindsay does take clients through an EAP called Lyra.
